The Position
We have a fantastic opportunity to join an Oncology & Infusion Centre as the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM). As a strong leader you will provide operational direction for the unit to ensure efficient and effective management of the service and coordinate the delivery of nursing care.
Reporting to the Deputy Director of Nursing the NUM will:
- Participate in the marketing initiatives of the Hospital to promote the service
- Provide leadership and direction to nursing staff, with support of educators identify and provide learning solutions to enhance performance/ develop staff to achieve their professional goals
- Oversee safe, quality care that meets current best practice standards
- Undertake a hands-on role, where required
- Practice according to evidence based care and contemporary practice
- Participate in the orientation of new staff and ensure all resources are developed, implemented and continuously improved
- Develop and or implement new systems/practices according to need
- Work closely with Doctors and specialist to ensure delivery of high quality care
Essential Criteria
- Current registration as a Nurse with AHPRA Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent
- Post graduate qualification in Healthcare Management or commitment to complete - graduate certificate or higher
- At least 5 years’ experience in specialty area
- Proven experience building and leading high performing teams with a service excellence approach
- Passionate about building strong relationships and delivering exceptional customer service
- Demonstrated skills in workforce planning, rostering and working within budgeted work hours
- High level of planning and organising skills Well-developed oral and written communication
- High degree of computer literacy
- Prior experience in the private healthcare system will be well regarded
