The Position

The position is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the Urology/Vascular Ward to complement the strategic direction, operational processes, budget and business direction of the hospital.

We are now seeking an experienced Nurse Unit Manager to lead a dynamic team and contribute to an experienced and supportive senior management team. This role is supported by a strong Associate Nurse Unit Manager group and Urology Liaison Nurses who bring strong clinical experience and leadership to this speciality.

You will provide operational direction for the unit to ensure efficient and effective management of the area and coordinate the delivery of nursing care that is evidence based.

In addition you will be accountable for the effective management of human, financial and material resources and ensure customer service is maintained at optimal levels. 

This is a maternity leave position for 12 months from the end of May 2021.

Located in the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne

 

Essential Criteria

  • Current Registration with AHPRA
  • Demonstrate consolidated clinical management experience in a Day Unit environment
  • Possess effective interpersonal relationship, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Be an excellent team player with an ability to work harmoniously in a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Leadership skills in managing a team to achieve high standards of clinical care at all times
  • Previous exposure to management of labour hours, rostering, budgetary and performance evaluation are essential.
