The Position
Are you an Enrolled or Registered Nurse who would like to apply their skills in a clinical administrative role?
An exciting new opportunity is available for a motivated and outcome focused nurse to join our Theatre Bookings team in a permanent, full time position.
As a Theatre Bookings Nurse, you will be responsible for the booking of elective and emergency surgical and medical patients into the hospital.
The Theatre Bookings Nurse works in close liaison with Visiting Medical Officers, their consulting rooms/practice managers, theatre manager and administration staff. You will report to the Perioperative Services Manager and work closely with a friendly, professional team.
As a Theatre Bookings Nurse your responsibilities will include:
- Liaise with Visiting Medical Officers, their consulting rooms and Practice Managers when elective surgery lists require alternation to reflect changes and ensure accurate written and verbal communication is maintained with key stakeholders
- Provide clinical advice to team members and act as a clinical resource for elective surgery to other multidisciplinary team members
- Provide clerical and administrative services for the management of elective surgery waiting lists and theatre bookings, including assisting with clerical and clinical auditing on processes to ensure accurate record keeping is maintained
- Liaise with relevant nursing staff and medical staff on administrative matters concerning the planning and booking of theatre lists to ensure appropriate theatre utilisation
- Identifying areas of improvement, discussing with peers and seeking avenues to address
- Support the hospital’s commitment to quality improvement and achievement of National Safety & Quality Healthcare Standards (NSQHS) accreditation
- Handle enquires with a friendly and professional manner
The Location
Located in Brisbane
Essential Criteria
- Current Registration with AHPRA
- Previous Perioperative Nursing experience desired
- Highly developed interpersonal and time management skills with the ability to work in multidisciplinary work environments
- Experience in MS Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
- Webpas Hospital System experience is an advantage
- Flexible roster to suit – Monday to Friday business hours, permanent/part time or 9-day fortnight
- Proven ability to work under pressure and maintain good working relationships with others
- Strong customer service skills to effectively engage internal stakeholders and team members
- Work well independently and within a team
