The Position
As the clinical nurse educator your responsibilities will include:
- Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, you will take on a leadership role in providing hands on educational support
- Promote a high standard of evidence based nursing care to all patients, through dissemination of current best practice knowledge
- Ensure staff compliance to annual Mandatory Training and completion of eLearning components
- Supporting contemporary education that promotes best practice standards
- Clinical support to staff of all proficiency levels, novice to expert
- Helping to ensure that through a highly skilled and educated workforce our patients receive safe and high-quality care
- Working collaboratively with the leadership team including the multi-disciplinary team
- Demonstrate agility and work as a change agent
- Identifying learning requirements, in conjunction with the Nurse Unit Managers, and developing education packages to address skill and knowledge gaps
- Delivering exceptional hands-on education and training initiatives
- Participate in and lead quality improvement projects
- Assisting staff, graduates and midwifery students in the provision of patient centred care
- Using multi-modal methods to provide evidence-based education
- Attend relevant policy & procedure meetings, ward meetings and bi-monthly education Meetings
The Location
Located in the western suburbs of Sydney.
Essential Criteria
- Current AHPRA Registration
- Certificate IV Workplace Assessment & Training (TAE)
- Educator experience in a similar role
- Demonstrated experience in eLearning platforms
- Demonstrated commitment to quality clinical care and sound clinical skills
- Ability to work effectively with a multi-disciplinary team
- Ability to show initiative and work independently when required
- Ability to demonstrate expertise within the full scope of midwifery practic
- Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the ACHS Standards and implementation into everyday practice
- High degree of computer literacy including MS Office
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
