The Position

As the Clinical Research Nurse you will be responsible for:

  • Provide general nursing care and monitor the wellbeing of patients / healthy volunteers when on study, taking appropriate actions when necessary.
  • Perform clinical procedures / assessments according to the approved protocol requirements and standard operating procedures.
  • Assist in the coordination / supervision of staff and participants within the Clinical Unit, troubleshooting any on study issues that arise on a day-to-day basis in consultation with Clinical Operations Management.
  • Administer Investigational Product, prescription and medications via all routes.
  • Have an understanding of the potential adverse reactions / on-study procedure requirements of all clinical trials conducted on shift.
  • Monitor and accurately document adverse events / medications according to requirements.
  • Inform the Medical Officers of all new adverse events and action any advice given.
  • Manage emergency situations and contact on-call physicians when required.
  • Provide assistance to the Medical Officers when required.
  • Complete all relevant required documentation.
  • Participate in collection, processing, storage and tracking of biological sample.
  • Ensure timely delivery of all biological samples to the lab to ensure integrity of the samples is maintained and processing times are met.

This organisation facilitates phase 1 clinical trials for pharmaceutical and biotech companies in the treatment of a variety of medical conditions.

 

The Location

Located in the outskirts of Melbourne CBD in the inner south east.

 

Essential Criteria

  • Experience in clinical trials beneficial, but not essential
  • APHRA accredited Division 1 Registered Nurse.
  • Min 2 years post graduate experience.
  • Ability to work independently and supervise as required.
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to adhere to documentation guidelines and study protocols.
  • Ability to work effectively on your own as well as a member of a team.
  • Ability to use initiative.
  • Flexibility in working hours and duties.
  • Professionalism and commitment in all areas of work.
