The Position
As the Nurse Practitioner you will be responsible for:
- Providing general nursing care to patients with the additional ability to undertake tasks such as assisting in emergency medical responses, prescription of medications/vaccinations, ordering diagnostic investigations and direct referral to other health care professionals
- Adhere at all times to the competencies, guidelines and codes of professional standards as detailed by Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), as well as Defence Policies and Procedures, legislative requirements and clinical governance directives
The Location
Located in northern Queensland.
Essential Criteria
- The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour
- Master of Nursing (Nurse Practitioner)
- Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1), General and Endorsed Nurse Practitioner with AHPRA
- Context of Nurse Practitioner registration shall be within a general adult acute care setting and primary health care environment (excluding practitioners with narrow fields of sub-specialities including paediatrics, geriatrics, oncology, neonatology and midwifery)
- Minimum of 2 years full-time nurse practitioner experience within a general adult acute care setting and primary health care environment (or part-time equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years full-time nurse practitioner experience within a general adult acute care setting and primary health care environment within the last 5 years (or part-time equivalent)
- Recent participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with AHPRA
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID001) certification
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team to support the delivery of safe, efficient and high quality care to patients
- Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation and externally with a range of personnel
