The Position
As the Registered Midwife/Nurse you will be responsible for:
- Deliver evidence based nursing care
- Liaise with the multi-disciplinary team
- Ensure patient and staff safety
- Supervise, direct and support nursing team members
- Deliver education and support to individuals/patients for the management of their health recovery
- Opportunity to work within our midwifery domiciliary service and proposed antenatal program
- Provide antenatal, birth suite, postnatal, special care nursery, general surgical, medical and paediatric care
The Location
Located in western Victoria, approximately 300 kilometres north-west of the state capital Melbourne.
Essential Criteria
- Current Midwifery registration with AHPRA
- Current Registered Nurse registration with AHPRA
- Ability to demonstrate proficiency in midwifery and care of the newborn
- Holds a contemporary professional practice portfolio containing evidence of learning and experience that underpin demonstrable knowledge and skills
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team, can demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills
- Commitment to Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative and demonstrated commitment to woman centred maternity care
- Demonstrated understanding of continuous Quality Improvement
- Post graduate nursing qualifications paediatrics, neonatal nursery (desirable)
- Drivers Licence (desirable)
- Proficient in the use of information technology (desirable)
- Minimum 12months working as either a Registered Midwife or Nurse
