The Position

As the Associate Nurse Unit Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Providing leadership of the multi-disciplinary team of the Operating Suite in provision of high quality, safe clinical practice to ensure the peri-operative service meets the needs of its consumers, carers and the community
  • Providing oversight and management for the day to day activities of the Operating Theatres, Post Anaesthetic Care Unit, Day Procedure Unit, Central Sterilising & Supply Department (CSSD) and Pre Admission Clinic
  • Ensuring Patient centred care is provided based on individual patient assessment and healthcare need

 

The Location

Located in western Victoria, approximately 300 kilometres north-west of the state capital Melbourne.

 

Essential Criteria

  • Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration
  • Minimum 12months working as a Registered Nurse in Australia
  • Post graduate qualifications in perioperative nursing
  • Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary nursing theory to practice in relation to perioperative nursing
  • Demonstrated capacity to provide leadership within a team
  • Evidence of commitment to innovation and continuous improvement and the delivery of a high standard of patient centred care
  • Well-developed negotiation, performance management, mediation and conflict resolution skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of quality systems including National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards and ACORN Standards for perioperative Nursing
