The Position
As the Registered Nurse you will be responsible for:
- Working in a multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality primary health care from pre-conception to old-age
- Supporting clients, their families, and the broader community to improve the health and wellbeing outcomes for those on Gumbaynggirr lands
- Providing up-to-date evidence informed care and the prevention, early detection, and management of long-term health challenges around physical, social and emotional wellbeing
- Health care planning, follow-ups and re-calls, scheduled immunisations, depots, and supporting the social and emotional wellbeing of clients
- Providing COVID-19 vaccinations (Phizer & Astra Zenaca)
- Focusing on the health priorities of clients such as mental health, diabetes management, child and adolescent health
- Undertaking health assessments and screening across all client groups and support and facilitate referrals
Health Service
Work in an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service located in coastal New South Wales. We are a leading provider of high quality, culturally relevant, comprehensive primary health and related care services. This role is part of a team of 3 full-time Registered Nurses and you will service Aboriginal communities in and around Coffs Harbour, Urunga, Bellingen and Woolgoolga.
The Location
Located on the north coast of NSW, this regional city offers bushwalking, whale watching, stunning beaches, a marine sanctuary and much much more!
Essential Criteria
- Current AHPRA registration
- Due to the nature of this role we encourage persons from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds to apply
- 3-5yrs experience as a Registered Nurse
- Minimum 12months experience as a Registered Nurse in Australia
- Current drivers license
- Experience working in an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service (desirable)
- Experience with Computerised Medical Systems (desirable)
- Have current immunisations
