The Position
As the Registered Midwife you will be responsible for:
- Assuming accountability and responsibility for providing a high standard of direct patient care through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of outcomes
- Promoting and maintaining an environment of teamwork and professionalism
- Processing and triaging referrals both Gynaecological and Antenatal according to Access Policy and Unit Guidelines
- Reviewing radiology and pathology results and action as appropriate. Escalate to senior midwife or Registrar if results unfamiliar or abnormal
- The flexibility to work in all areas in Women’s and Children’s Services if requested by the management once adequate orientation provided

Essential Criteria
- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency) as a Registered Midwife
- Minimum 12months experience as a Registered Midwife in Australia
- Solid midwifery skills to facilitate the care of a mother and a newborn
- A knowledge and understanding of the current trends in women’s health and commitment to learn new areas
- Supportive of productive working relationships and respect of individual differences and diversity
- The demonstration of good time management skills and the ability to work independently when required
