The Position
As the Nurse Educator you will be responsible for:
- Identifying educational needs by partnering with the ICU Nurse Unit Manager and Education Team to determine team and individual learning needs
- Leading and fostering a learning environment by designing, developing and facilitating education packages, providing team and individual coaching and coordinating subject matter experts (external and internal) to deliver training
- Orientating new staff members and up-skill novice staff members
- Demonstrating professional practice as evidence by adhering to AHPRA professional standards, code of ethics and conduct, legislative requirements, required registration, scope of practice, and patient confidentiality and privacy.
- Prioritising the patient safety and quality frameworks by identifying areas of improvement, participating in case reviews and clinical audits as required
- Acting as a valued member of the inter-disciplinary team to provide exceptional patient care and quality education by providing supervision and teaching to staff, and actively contributing to team processes and practices
- Maintaining a professional and constructive working relationships with our VMO partners, using a customer service mindset, to enable high quality patient outcomes

Essential Criteria
- Current Registration with AHPRA
- Minimum 12months experience working as a Registered Nurse in Australia or New Zealand
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in ICU
- Competency in post-operative cardiothoracic care will be highly regarded
- Commitment to excellent standards of patient care
- Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
- Sound clinical decision making and problem solving skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Works well independently and within a team
- Good computer skills
