The Position

As the Nurse Educator you will be responsible for:

  • Providing expert diabetes advice and education to patients and carers
  • Proven experience in management of type 1, type 2 diabetes education and management, both paediatric and adult, and diabetes in pregnancy
  • Displaying knowledge of continuous glucose monitoring and insulin pump management

Essential Criteria

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
  • Minimum 12months working experience as a Registered Nurse in Australia
  • A post graduate qualification in Diabetes Education and Management
  • Current Australian Diabetes Educators Association (ADEA) credentialing status (or working towards)
  • Demonstrated high level experience and skills in clinical practice, diabetes education and management both in the acute sector and community setting
  • Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated, with high level skills in problem solving and time management skills to manage a caseload, meet deadlines, maintain schedules, set goals/objectives, as required
  • Ability to work highly effectively in a multi-disciplinary, multi-functional environment as well as independently with little supervision
  • Highly developed verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills including computer literacy
