The Position
As the Registered Midwife you will be responsible for:
- Delivering evidence based nursing care
- Liaising with the multi-disciplinary team
- Ensuring patient and staff safety
- Supervising, directing and supporting nursing team members
- Delivering education and support to individuals/patients for the management of their health recovery
- Working within our midwifery domiciliary service and proposed antenatal program
- Providing antenatal, birth suite, postnatal, special care nursery, general surgical, medical and paediatric care
The Location
Located in western Victoria, approximately 300 kilometres northwest of the state capital Melbourne. You will have access to the Grampians National Park, beautiful botanical gardens and excellent facilities for shopping, dining and entertainment.
Essential Criteria
- Current Midwifery registration with AHPRA
- Ability to demonstrate proficiency in midwifery and care of the newborn
- Holds a contemporary professional practice portfolio containing evidence of learning and experience that underpin demonstrable knowledge and skills
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team, can demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills
- Commitment to Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative and demonstrated commitment to woman centered maternity care
- Demonstrated understanding of continuous Quality Improvement
- Post graduate nursing qualifications paediatrics, neonatal nursery (desirable)
- Drivers License (desirable)
- Proficient in the use of information technology (desirable)
- Minimum 12months working as a Registered Midwife in Australia
