The Position

As the Associate Nurse Unit Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Providing clinical leadership and act as a positive role model to all nursing staff
  • Ensuring that clinical practice reflects the quality improvement process, is evidence-based and meets relevant statutory requirements
  • Referring relevant and important issues to the NUM or other health care team members
  • Supporting the NUM in ensuring the unit’s business plan is developed, implemented, monitored and evaluated
  • Providing responsible management of human, financial and environmental resources within the unit in collaboration with the NUM
  • Monitoring and managing nursing staff performance
  • Supporting the NUM to ensure the safe operation and cleanliness of all clinical equipment according to relevant standards

 

The Location

Located in the outer north-west of Victoria on the banks of the Murray River. Fantastic pubs, cafes and wildlife to explore!

 

Essential Criteria

  • Relevant registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Minimum 12months working as a Registered Nurse in Australia
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively in team environment & independently as required
  • Previous experience in an equivalent role (desirable)
  • Ability to plan and conduct patient education (desirable)
  • Sound Computer skills in MS Office programs including Excel (desirable)
