The Position

As the Nurse Unit Manager you are responsible for:

• Manages the Operating Rooms, Day Procedure Unit, Pre Admission Clinic and C.S.S.D. in an effective and efficient manner
• Evaluates nursing staff performance in accordance with position descriptions and Clinical Services Division policies
• Liaises with General and Specialists Surgeons to ensure fair and efficient Operating Room schedules
• Formulates department philosophy and objectives, and reviews and revises these documents regularly
• Maintains clinical expertise through participation in all peri-operative nursing procedures including case load as appropriate

The Location

Located in the north west of Victoria, approximately 3 and a half hour drive from Melbourne. It is a fantastic family location with tremendous schools, sporting facilities, restaurants all on the banks of the Murray River!

Essential Criteria

• Current Registration with AHPRA
• Post graduate qualification in peri-operative Nursing or broad experience in Operating Suite essential
• Demonstrated ability to manage staff and provide information and education to patients and carers about planned procedures including expected length of stay and post discharge support
