The Position
As the nurse unit manager you will be responsible for:
- Participate in the marketing initiatives of NBH to promote the service
- Provide leadership and direction to nursing staff, with support of educators identify and provide learning solutions to enhance performance/ develop staff to achieve their professional goals
- Oversee safe, quality care that meets current best practice standards
- Undertake a hands-on role, where required
- Practice according to evidence based care and contemporary practice
- Participate in the orientation of new staff and ensure all resources are developed, implemented and continuously improved
- Develop and or implement new systems/practices according to need
- Work closely with Doctors and specialist to ensure delivery of high quality care
The Location
Located in the northern suburbs of Sydney.
Essential Criteria
- Current registration as a Nurse with AHPRA
- Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent
- Post graduate qualification in Healthcare Management or commitment to complete - graduate certificate or higher
- Proficient in Good Clinical Practice with valid credentialling
- At least 5 years’ experience in the delivery of Oncology and Chemotherapy outpatient services
- At least 5 years’ experience in the delivery of investigational products and management of patients participating in clinical trials
- Extensive knowledge and clinical skills in delivering Medical Oncology and Haematology treatment protocols including immunotherapies
- Previous NUM experience essential or 5 years’ experience in leadership/management in oncology/haematology
- Have worked with the MOSAIQ platform or similar electronic chemotherapy prescribing/treatment platforms
- Proven experience building and leading high performing teams with a service excellence approach
- Passionate about building strong relationships and delivering exceptional customer service
- Demonstrated skills in workforce planning, rostering and working within budgeted work hours
- High level of planning and organising skills
- Well-developed oral and written communication
- High degree of computer literacy
- Prior experience in the private healthcare system will be well regarded
