The Position
As the Registered Nurse you will be responsible for:
- Providing safe and efficient delivery of nursing care to patients and families within a multidisciplinary framework
- Ensuring that the wellbeing of the patient and family is the focus without prejudice
- Completing assessment, planning and implementing care in consultation with the team leader/shift manager
- Providing assistance to colleagues on a daily basis and more broadly on the vision and values of the unit
- Assessing the need for and provide health education for patients and their carers
- Providing care to patients before and after an operation who have suffered injuries to their bones, ligaments, tendons or muscles

Essential Criteria
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency)
- Minimum 12months working experience as a Registered Nurse in Australia
- Recent clinical experience (past 12 months) in an acute surgical or orthopaedic ward
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on person centred care
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment (desirable)
- Postgraduate qualification in acute nursing (surgical or orthopaedic nursing). If no qualification, willingness to undertake relevant postgraduate studies (desirable)
