  • Looking to appoint a DON for a short term secondment, with a view to a longer term appointment within the Executive leadership team
  • Private hospital

The Position

As the Director of Nursing you will be responsible for:

  • Focusing on clinical leadership, strategic direction and operational management of all clinical and support areas
  • Being an integral part of the executive team with the key responsibility to ensure clinical teams provide a high standard of clinical service delivery and outcomes within budget, complying with relevant legislation and care standards
  • Leading teams that are focused on best practice health outcomes for patients
  • Being accountable for the day to day running of the facility, ensuring high quality care is provided
  • Fostering an environment that recognises individual strengths and achievements, contributing to a positive workplace and professional fulfilment

 

The Location

Located in the outer eastern suburbs in walking distance to a shopping center and parklands.

 

Essential Criteria

  • Current Registration with AHPRA
  • Minimum 12months experience as a Registered Nurse in Australia
  • Extensive experience in clinical nursing and management at a senior level is a mandatory requirement 
  • Strong commitment to customer service and quality outcomes
  • Consultative leadership style and ability to build rapport and effectively relate with all stakeholders
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, conflict management and negotiation skills
  • Well-developed financial and analytical skills, ability to manage KPIs, strategic planning, and promote and positively implement a patient-focused care model
  • Post-Graduate qualifications in Health Management would be advantageous
