- Case load midwife providing continuity of midwifery care during the antenatal, birth and postnatal periods, working in the community, women’s home and within the organisation
The Position
As the Registered Midwife you will be responsible for:
- Demonstrate clinical leadership and expertise in midwifery-led continuity of care
- Co-ordinate and provide advanced midwifery-led continuity of care in accordance with the Health Services Policies and Procedures, National Midwifery Guidelines for Consultation and Referral and relevant legislation
- Provide comprehensive care involving appropriate consultation, referral, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team approach. This includes providing a supportive educational environment to enable women and their families to make informed choices about their care
- Promote midwives within the multidisciplinary team as valuable experts contributing to positive outcomes for women and their families and promote an environment that encourages both individual and team development
- In consultation with the Clinical Midwifery Manager, demonstrate responsibility for human and material resources to facilitate the delivery of a safe standard of care for all consumers
- Undertake other duties appropriate to this level of classification which contribute to the operation of the organisation
Essential Criteria
- Be currently registered with AHPRA as a Registered Midwife
- Relevant midwifery and/or nursing qualifications with am inimum of four years’ experience working professionally in midwifery
- This is an on-call position and when on call need to be available within 30 minutes of the Health Service
- Must have drivers license
