• Position Title: Level 2 Midcall Midwife (Antenatal and Postnatal care)
• This current role involves morning (Day) shifts, working Monday to Sunday including public holidays
• Permanent positions for Midwives in the ACT
• Appealing remuneration package

The Position

As the Registered Midwife, you will:

• Co-ordinate and provide direct care to women and their families across the antenatal & postnatal period. Within a multidisciplinary approach ensure clinical care is of the highest quality, consistent with current evidence and practice initiatives in the relevant area of speciality.
• In consultation with the multidisciplinary team, triage, co-ordinate, plan and negotiate the scheduling of care for women & babies including delegating, prioritising and managing work time effectively.
• Provide a supportive educational environment to enable women and their families to make informed choices about their care. Act as a professional role model and resource person within a multidisciplinary health care team to achieve an agreed standard of care for women.
• Effectively communicate with consumers and health professionals using well developed verbal, written and technological skills. The midwife will access various computer applications including health specific databases to assist in communication, support service delivery and accurate data collection for reporting.

Essential Criteria

• Be currently registered with AHPRA as a Registered Midwife
• The successful applicant will need to be available for weekend and after-hours work.
• Must hold current drivers license
• Commitment to flexibility and innovation in practice including an evidence-based approach to care
